Jigawa State College of Education and Legal Studies, Ringim was established in 1992. The College was established to train and produce qualified teachers for primary and secondary schools in Jigawa State and Nigeria in general.

The College started with 200 students in 1992 and has grown tremendously over the years. Currently, the student population of the College is over 5,000.
