About The School
The establishment of Niger Delta University (NDU) was a response to the educational needs of the people of the Niger Delta region.
Before the establishment of the university, students from the region had to travel long distances to get quality education.
The government of Bayelsa State saw the need to establish a university that would cater to the educational needs of the people of the region.
In 1998, the Bayelsa State government established a technical committee to look into the possibility of establishing a university.
Two years later, the Niger Delta University was established. The university started with three faculties: Education, Arts and Social Sciences, and Science. Since then, it has grown to have ten faculties and a College of Health Sciences.

Niger Delta Admission Requirements
To gain admission into NDU, there are certain requirements that students must meet.
- candidates must have at least five credit passes in their O’level results, including Mathematics and English Language.
- Candidates must also meet the minimum UTME score set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Candidates who meet the requirements are expected to undergo a screening exercise. The screening exercise includes the verification of O’level results, UTME score, and other necessary documents.
- Candidates who are successful in the screening exercise will be offered admission into the university.
Niger Delta Hostel Accommodation
