Zagada began his teaching career in 1986 at Government Secondary School, Argungu. He taught Geography for 10 years before transferring to Zagada College of Education, Bajoga in 1996 where he served as a lecturer. His leadership qualities were evident early on, and Zagada was appointed Dean of Student Affairs in 2001, a role he served in for six years. In 2007, Zagada was appointed Principal of Zagada College of Education, a position he still holds today.

Hostel Accommodation

Zagada College of Education provides accommodation for students in well-furnished hostels within the school premises. The hostels have adequate facilities to ensure students live in a comfortable environment conducive to learning.

Male Hostel

The male hostel has a capacity to accommodate up to 800 students. Rooms in the three-story building are spacious with each room allocated to four students. Basic furniture like beds, reading tables, chairs and wardrobes are provided. Students have access to clean bathrooms and toilets on each floor.

Female Hostel

The female hostel provides accommodation for up to 600 students in a safe, secure environment. Similar to the male hostel, rooms are spacious and equipped with necessary furniture for four occupants. Strict security measures are enforced to restrict unauthorized access with female security guards posted at the entrance.


Both hostels have essential facilities for students including a common room for recreation and group study. The hostels are connected to the College’s facilities like the health center, library, lecture halls and cafeteria. Electricity and water are available 24 hours a day for students’ convenience. The College administration ensures the hostels are habitable by conducting regular maintenance and fumigation.
