About The School
Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, fondly called “Benpoly”, opened its doors in 1992 and has been providing higher education to thousands of students from Benue State and beyond ever since.
The school is located in the rural community of Ugbokolo, about 45 minutes from Makurdi, the state capital. While its location may be off the beaten path, Benpoly has developed into a reputable institution that offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programs in fields like Business Administration, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering.
Benue State Polytechnic School Fees
Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo prides itself on providing higher education to those who may not otherwise have the means. The school fees are quite affordable in comparison to other tertiary institutions in Nigeria. This allows students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain valuable skills and practical experience.
For the 2020/2021 academic year, tuition fees range from ₦45,000 to ₦65,000 per semester, depending on the course of study. Additional fees for accommodation, medical care, and student activities typically do not exceed ₦20,000 per semester. The total cost of attendance per year is less than ₦200,000 for most programs.
Benue State Polytechnic Admission Requirements
To gain admission into Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, there are a few requirements you’ll need to meet.
- You must have at least 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE/WASSCE, NECO or NABTEB. Subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Applicants with Teachers Grade II Certificates with at least 5 merits and 2 passes in relevant subjects are also eligible for admission.

The hostels feature large rooms that can accommodate up to four students. Each room contains four beds, wardrobes, a ceiling fan, and shared bathrooms.
