About Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku
Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku was established in 1978 as a Federal Government technical teacher training college. The goal was to train NCE qualified teachers in technical and vocational education for post-primary institutions in Nigeria.
Since its inception, the college has trained thousands of teachers and technicians in fields such as woodwork technology, metalwork technology, building technology, electrical/electronics technology, and mechanical engineering technology. The college started with 83 students in 1978/1979 academic session and five departments.
Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to run NCE programs in technical teacher education and strives to achieve excellence in training technical teachers and technicians for the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
