The School Fees

As a state polytechnic, Adamawa State Polytechnic aims to provide higher education that is affordable and accessible to students from all backgrounds. The school fees are highly subsidized to make studying at the polytechnic within reach for most Adamawa residents.

For Adamawa indigenes, the acceptance fee into the polytechnic’s degree programs is only 5,000 Naira. Non-indigenes of Adamawa state are required to pay 10,000 Naira. In addition to the acceptance fee, students pay an annual tuition of between 30,000 to 60,000 Naira depending on the course of study. This is a fraction of fees charged by private tertiary institutions.

Adamawa State Polytechnic Admission Requirements

To gain admission into Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, there are a few requirements you’ll need to meet.

  • Have a minimum of 5 credits in not more than two sittings in SSCE/WASSCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent. Credits should include English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects related to the desired course of study.
  • Applicants awaiting results may also apply but must meet the minimum entry requirements before enrollment.
  • Apply online by registering and completing the application form on the school’s website and making a payment of N10,000 application fee.
  • The online application portal opens in January of each year. Be sure to apply before the deadline, usually in April.
  • Submit all required documents to the Admissions Office, including:
  • Copies of educational qualifications
  • Birth certificate
  • Local government of origin certificate
  • Reference letters from a school principal or teacher (for fresh secondary school graduates)

Adamawa State Polytechnic Hostel Accommodation

Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola provides accommodation for students in the form of hostels located within the campus.

The polytechnic has separate hostels for male and female students with 24-hour security and a constant power supply. Each hostel room can accommodate up to four students and comes furnished with beds, reading tables, chairs, ceiling fans and wardrobes.

Hostel fees are very affordable. As of 2023, a bed space in the male or female hostel costs around ₦8,000 per semester. This includes access to hostel facilities like bathrooms, toilets, common rooms, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
