Kaduna Polytechnic has been a pillar of higher education in Nigeria since 1956. It was first established as a technical institute, aimed at training technicians and craftsmen to meet the needs of Northern Nigeria’s growing industries.

Over the years, the institute grew into a full-fledged polytechnic, offering higher national diploma programs in engineering, sciences, and management studies. Kaduna Poly has produced countless graduates who went on to become leaders in their fields and contribute to the development of Nigeria.

School fees vary based on the program of study. As a guide:

  • Arts and Humanities: ₦50,000 – ₦70,000 per session
  • Engineering, Science and Tech: ₦60,000 – ₦90,000 per session
  • Part-time and Evening programs: ₦40,000 – ₦60,000 per session

Kaduna Polytechnic Admission Requirements

To stand a chance of getting Admission into this great institution,  you need to consider the following important factors;

First, check that you meet the basic admission requirements. For most programs, you’ll need at minimum a Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE/NECO) or equivalent with credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Some courses may have additional subject requirements, so check the website for details on your program of interest.

Next, obtain and fill out the application form, either online or in person at the Registrar’s office. You’ll have to provide personal information, your educational background, the program you’re applying for, and pay an application fee. Make sure all information is accurate!

Kaduna Polytechnic Hostel Accommodation

As a student at Kaduna Polytechnic, you have several options for accommodation during your studies.

The polytechnic offers hostel accommodation for students on campus. There are separate hostels for male and female students with options for single, double or multiple occupancy rooms at affordable rates. Living in the hostels allows you to be close to your classes and activities on campus. However, hostel life may not suit everyone as the rooms are basic and you have to share facilities.

1. What programs and courses do you offer?

We offer a variety of technical and vocational courses such as Accountancy, Business Administration, Computer Science, and Engineering. We also have programs in the arts and humanities like Mass Communication. In total, we offer over 150 programs across two campuses.

2. What are the admission requirements?

To apply, you need:

  • 5 credits at SSCE/WASSCE including English, Mathematics, and 3 other subjects
  • Minimum of ‘C’ grades in those 5 subjects
  • Completed online application with personal details, educational history, and choices of programs
  • Payment of non-refundable application fee

School fees vary based on the program of study. As a guide:

  • Arts and Humanities: ₦50,000 – ₦70,000 per session

Fees are paid per academic session (trimester) and may increase slightly each year. We offer scholarships and financial assistance for students with exceptional results and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

4. Do you offer accommodation?

We have limited accommodation on campus, primarily for first-year students. Priority is given to students from outside Kaduna state or with long commutes. Rent ranges from ₦25,000 to ₦40,000 per session. Many students also live off-campus in private hostels or apartments close to the school.
