The Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, formerly known as Federal Technical College, Gombe, started in 1977. The college was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide technical and vocational education to Nigerians.

In 1977, the Federal Government approved the establishment of six new Federal Technical Colleges across the country, including Gombe. The college began academic activities on November 15, 1977 with 240 students and 12 teaching staff across three departments: Electrical/Electronics, Civil Engineering and Science Laboratory Technology.

Over the years, the college has expanded academic programs to include Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Accountancy, and Public Administration. Student enrollment has also grown significantly to over 3,000 students.

  • Have at least five credits in related subjects, such as English Language, Mathematics, one Science subject, and two other subjects. You can get these credits in one sitting or over two sittings, but not more than five credits in a row.

    Must have at least five years of education after elementary school.
  • For Direct Entry candidates, you must have at least one upper credit in the appropriate ND program.

  • Must have made their first choice when they signed up for JAMB.
