About The University

Federal University of Gashua (FUGASHUA) is a federal university located in Gashua town of Yobe State, Nigeria. It was established in February 2013, and it is one of the twelve federal universities that were created by the Goodluck Jonathan administration in Nigeria.

The university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various faculties, including Arts, Management and Social Sciences, Agriculture, Education, and Science. FUGASHUA School Fee

Current tuition at the Federal University Gashua in Yobe is 34,700 Naira for new students and 26,700 Naira for returning students. You must verify the departmental fees for new students on the school’s official website. The online payment site would also be used for payment.

Admission Requirements For FUGASHUA

The requirements for entry into the Federal University of Gashua (FUGASHUA) Yobe vary depending on the level of study (undergraduate or postgraduate) and the program of interest. However, here are some general requirements for admission into FUGASHUA:

Undergraduate Programs:

Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB.
Candidates must have a minimum score of 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and choose FUGASHUA as their first choice of institution.
Candidates who meet the UTME cut-off mark will be required to participate in a post-UTME screening exercise conducted by the university.
Direct entry candidates must possess at least two A-Level passes or its equivalent in relevant subjects, or a National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of upper credit in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

Postgraduate Programs:

Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (second class honors or its equivalent) from a recognized university in a relevant discipline.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years post-qualification work experience in their chosen field.
Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB.
Candidates must possess a minimum score of 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or the equivalent of that for international students.
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale, or its equivalent, in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Note: meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into the Federal University of Gashua. Admission into FUGASHUA is highly competitive, and candidates must perform well in the screening exercise or interview to stand a chance of being admitted.

FUGASHUA Hostel Accommodation

The FUNAAB hostel accommodation charge is now available to all students, particularly first-year and final-year students.

The costs for each hostel in FUGASHUA are listed below. For the academic year 2023–2024, both new and returning students may stay in the hostel.

For students interested in living on campus, the hostel accommodation fee is 25,000 Naira per student.

Depending on your preferences and the area you choose, you can rent hostel apartments outside of the campus (in the Fugasha area) with between 30,000 Naira and 40,000 Naira per year.
