Nigeria Defense Academy Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for the NDA are below:

  • Citizenship: Prospective cadets must be Nigerian citizens.
  • Age: Prospective cadets must be between 17 and 21 years old at the time of admission.
  • Educational Qualification: Prospective cadets must have a minimum of five credits in O’Level examinations, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Medical Fitness: Prospective cadets must be medically fit and must undergo a medical examination conducted by the NDA Medical Centre.
  • Height: Male cadets must be at least 1.68 meters tall, while female cadets must be at least 1.58 meters tall.
  • Physical Fitness: Prospective cadets must pass a physical fitness test conducted by the NDA.
  • Character: Prospective cadets must possess good character, as attested to by a reputable reference from their secondary school principal or a senior military officer.

The NDA provided three types of accommodation for its students:

  • Single Room: The single room accommodation is meant for students who prefer to have their own private space. The fee for a single room accommodation for the academic session was set at ₦30,000.
  • Double Room: The double room accommodation is meant for students who prefer to share a room with one other person. The fee for a double room accommodation for the academic session was also set at ₦30,000 per person.
  • Triple Room: The triple room accommodation is meant for students who prefer to share a room with two other people. The fee for a triple room accommodation for the academic session was set at ₦25,000 per person.
